Easter Holiday 1: Pembroke College

Crashing Pembroke.
Taken by the lady who works there
(she insisted we wait until the
High Table was fully vacated)

Rehan enjoying his food.
Note the myriad dark haired Japanese
boys and girls at the far table

In front of the College Library.
We're well happy with this shot.

Rehan givin' it to the
Pitt 'Brad Pitt' Statue.
We have absolutely no idea
who this guy is.

A bit back to front, but
As we first entered the College.

So after Rehan's one week
with his parents in London,
we resume our Crash
during the Easter Holidays.
Care must be taken now since
not all colleges serve food
out-of-term. Thanks to Robert Crellin's
hospitality back in the days, I remembered
that Pembroke served food out of term.

They took cash. It was a
rinse of a crash. ;)

We were impressed with the
selection of mains and side dishes
on offer, and the food we had was
good.

It was also a time when I could
tell Rehan of my decision to go to America.

'But will America be ready for Joseph?'
said Rehan.

Thanks Rehan! ;)

I'll really miss friendship and
crashage with Rehan. TYG for them!

Next week: Peterhouse

Week 8: Emmanuel College

Emma Hall,
Just about to start.

Rehan enjoying
the meal

Looking rather
like a fellow with the
new jacket and shirt and all

The daddys of the angle.
The guy who took the
photo took it too literally
when I asked if he could "take the
photo kneeling down"

We got the clock tower in,
so that's good.

Emma was quite a difficult one
to crash. Although they accept cash,
they will not serve food
to any randoms. In the end someone
I knew from CICCU stuck out for us.

The food was good, and
reasonably priced too.

Here ends Lent term.
Thanks be to God for all
the memory-making
photo-taking crashes so far!

Rehan goes home for a week, so will
decide on our next crash when he comes back.

Week 7: Christ's College

Christ's College Upper Hall
Taken by Taeyang

A cheeky shot in First Court
with Taeyang.

Praise God for his blessed
providences!

A hallcrash catastrophe
nearly happened this week
when I realised that I'd forgotten
to recharge my digicam batteries
and that there was no more power left
to take a single shot.

A photoless crash? Never!

But thanks be to God who provided us
with Taeyang, a first year medic Korean
who graciously went to his room to fetch
his camera (the same model as mine!)
and lend me his battery.
Taeyang, Jungmal Gomawuh!

Christ's upper hall also takes cash.
(so far all colleges beginning with
the lstter 'C' takes cash: Clare,
Catz, Corpus, Christ's...
so the 'C' was for 'cash'? Johnny Cash
anyone? ..sorry)

The food was
cheaper than Corpus (at about 2.50)
and (according to Rehan) nicer than Catz.

Next week: Emmanuel College

Week 6: Corpus Christi College

In the Corpus Christi
Front Court

In the hall. The welcome
ray of sunlight literally
lasted for the duration of our shot.

Corpus Christi hall
was a pleasure to crash.

A bit expensive, but then
where else can you get a decent
stake meal for 4.50 pounds in the
middle of Cambridge?

The college also took cash.

For the records, Rehan and I
crashed this hall on the Thursday
and not Tuesday, because
Rehan was unwell on the Tuesday.

Next week: Christ's College
